Independence starts
with small things.
Build independence at home with Happy Kids: accessible belongings, small choices, time to try and just enough support, without comparing children.

Make things accessible
A low shoe space, reachable coat hook and small tray show children where to begin. Fewer objects in predictable places make practice easier.
Small choices, clear boundaries
Offer two suitable options: shall we put away the books or the blocks first? Adults remain responsible for safety and routines.
Model, then wait
Demonstrate slowly once, use few words and give time to try. Help with the part that is difficult rather than doing everything.
Notice the process
Describe what you saw: carrying a tray with two hands or trying again after a spill. Independence is not a demand to reach milestones before other children.
